About Your Faith Deconstruction & Men's Therapist in Los Angeles

Hi, I'm George. I help men navigate faith deconstruction, religious trauma, and the identity questions that surface when the belief system you were raised in no longer fits who you are. I was raised in a high-demand religion myself, and my own deconstruction reshaped how I understand meaning, belonging, and what it takes to live by values you actually chose. Whether you are questioning, leaving, or rebuilding, my practice is a place to feel understood and move toward a life that is genuinely yours.

Holistic Therapy Services in Los Angeles

Faith Deconstruction & Religious Trauma

Questioning or leaving a high-demand religion can affect far more than belief. It can bring grief, guilt, anger, family conflict, loss of community, and uncertainty about who you are. George offers informed support for Mormon and LDS faith transitions without an agenda about whether you stay, leave, or land somewhere in between.

Men's Mental Health & Identity

George helps men who have learned to suppress emotion, carry responsibility alone, or measure their worth through strength and performance. Therapy provides a place to understand what is underneath the pressure, reconnect with emotion, and build relationships and a life that feel more authentic.

Values, Identity & Authentic Self

Focus: Rebuilding a sense of self after doctrine, expectation, or obligation stops being the compass. Getting clear on what you actually value, separate from what you were told to value, and moving toward it.
Tools: ACT, Values Clarification, Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Virtual Therapy in California & Utah
In-Person Fridays in Torrance

George offers secure virtual therapy for individual adults who are physically located in California or Utah at the time of each session. In-person appointments are available on Fridays at our Torrance office in the South Bay.

Values You Choose, Not Values You Inherit

My style is engaged, collaborative, and honest. I am not a therapist who nods along from a distance. Together we get clear on what actually matters to you, separate from doctrine, expectation, or obligation, and we use that clarity as a compass for real change. I take a whole-person approach, drawing on your strengths while we face what is hard directly.Together, we will create a path to more groundedness and authenticity.

You do not have to arrive certain. Part of you being ready for something different is enough to begin.

A Personal Message to My Clients

Many of the men I work with are somewhere in the middle: still questioning, still grieving, still deciding what they believe and who they are without it. I have no agenda for where you land. My role is not to talk you into staying or leaving. It is to help you understand your own experience, tend to what hurt, and move toward a life that fits. It is an honor to sit with your story.

What Clients Say About Working With George

I was seeking someone specialized in religious trauma from high-demand, high-control religious environments. Initially, I was highly skeptical of just about any mental health professional in this space, having had some pretty poor experiences with therapists when I was younger. George changed all of that. He brought some really effective tools, including IFS, to help solve and manage my specific issues and concerns. George is professional, responsive and shows a genuine dedication to healing both mentally and spiritually.

Frequently Asked Questions

We've answered some common questions to help you feel more confident about taking the first step.

Yes. This is the center of my work. I help men process what happens when a belief system that once organized their whole life stops fitting: the grief, the guilt, the loss of community, and the question of who you are without it. My approach draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.

Yes, and I understand it from the inside. I was raised an active member of a high-demand religion and went through my own faith deconstruction. I have no agenda about whether you stay, leave, or land somewhere in between. Sessions are available virtually across California and Utah, which many clients prefer for privacy.

No. You are welcome wherever you are: devout, doubting, deconstructing, or done. The work is about your mental health, your values, and your sense of self, not about your theology.

Yes. My practice is affirming. For many people, faith and identity are deeply intertwined, and I hold space for both without asking you to explain or defend either one.
